IN 1918, GETTING THE VOTE CHANGED HISTORY.
IN 2018, USING YOUR VOTE WILL CHANGE IT AGAIN.

An initiative to get people to vote in Ireland’s 2018 abortion referendum, drawing parallels between the suffragettes and women’s rights today. Launched on International Women’s Day 2018, we created photography, a zine and launch film, and the project lived on social too.

Katie was invited to talk about this project on The Other podcast, and also spoke about it at the Art Directors Club of Europe’s High Potentials session. It was also included in the 100Archive, a yearly collection of the most important design projects in Ireland.

The crux of this project was a self-published zine, which had information on what we were voting on, how to register to vote, and why we should vote yes. We distributed it as far and wide as possible.

The project had a big social presence, where we posted how-tos for first-time voters, information about voting registration deadlines, and more.
The President of Ireland even followed us!

It culminated in an exhibition with Hen’s Teeth, “The Art of Protest”; where we invited 13 female illustrators and designers to create protest placards around women’s rights. The exhibition ran from the 10 - 17 of May, with all profits from print sales going to the Together for Yes campaign.
